
The January Yoga Serves Potluck had a big turn out and terrific food. We hope you can make the next one in the spring. We’ll keep you posted about the time and place. Below is a list in chronological order of our upcoming service projects presented at our last potluck. If you couldn’t make the pot luck you can still offer your help for the service projects.
Yoga Serves joins Growing Hope Community Potluck > www.growinghope.net on the 1st Thursdays of the Month 5:30-7 pm, March 4, April 1st, Locations to be determined. These monthly potlucks are open to everyone interested in connecting and sharing about issues of food, gardens, agriculture, community, sustainability, or otherwise! This will be wonderful opportunity to meet and learn about this community non-profit’s volunteer opportunities.

Yoga Serves is signing up again to help the Ann Arbor Film Fest. At the time of our last potluck they didn’t know exactly how we would be helping, but if you are available the week of March 24-28th, and would like to help the Film Fest contact Laurie Blakeney, laurie@annarborschoolofyoga.com

Earth Day Tree-Planting at Olson Park Sunday, April 18, 1-3pm
In honor of Earth Day, we will help restore a disturbed area of Olson Park (on Pontiac Trail and Dhu Varren) by planting some native trees. Contact Christy at cdeburton@hotmail.com to help out!
826 Michigan is hosting a dinner and book signing event at Zingerman’s Road House with author Dave Eggers/. He’ll be discussing his new book, Zeitoun which is about the Arab American experience with Hurricane Katrina. Yoga Serves has helped with 826 Events in the past and we were much appreciated and had tons of fun. This event will be the first week of May, and if you’d like to be added to the Yoga Serves Helps 826 list contact Laurie Blakeney, laurie@annarborschoolofyoga.com and your name will be passed on to the organizers at 826 Michigan.
Yoga Serves! is a group of local yoga teachers and practitioners who know “yoga serves” on many levels. We believe that practicing yoga mproves our lives and can benefit our community. Our yoga “posses” go out on a variety of community service missions. We pledge to help, and to serve, with joy! We gather together for quarterly vegetarian potlucks where we plan our service strategies and share our endeavors with each other. We create community through the fun of serving thers together.
