Devki Desai Weekend Workshop

Ann Arbor School of Yoga

Welcomes Smt. Devki Desai
MAY 11-13, 2012

DEVKI DESAI BEGAN HER STUDIES in Yoga with Shri B.K.S. Iyengar in Mumbai in 1984, when Guruji was teaching weekly Saturday classes there. In 1988 she moved to Pune, near the Iyengar Institute, and very quickly became a integral part of the Institute programs. I saw early on she was often asked to demonstrate in the classes by all the Iyengars, and to help out in many other ways. In 1995, after completing very comprehensive teacher training by Geeta, Prashant and Guruji. She became one of the teachers at the Iyengar Institute. Today she continues to teach Ladies classes, classes for beginners and intermediate students, the childrens’ class and assists in the medical classes. She has traveled with Geeta Iyengar to assist in large international conventions. In 2008 Devki began travelling to teach on her own abroad, and has taught in the UK, Manilla, Canada, and the USA.

I’VE KNOWN DEVKI FOR MANY YEARS, and have admired her spirit and generosity towards all who come to India to study at the Iyengar Institute. With great pleasure I welcome Devki to Ann Arbor to share with us a weekend of in-depth classes. All the classes will be open to any Iyengar student who has completed at least one session of beginning level asana classes. Novice and Advanced students of all ages will all benefit from her expertise, each will be individually challenged as she guides us towards a deeper understanding of how the practice of asana and pranayama can guide us towards living a yogic life.

Enrollment will be limited, all equipment will be provided. Please contact me online if you have any questions.
